Since 1991 Dr Helmut Born has been Secretary General of the German Farmers Association (DBV). After taking a degree and PhD at the Institute of Agricultural Policy, Market Research and Business Sociology at Bonn University, he worked in a variety of fields within the profession, including as an advisor on policy matters and as Deputy Secretary General of the Association of German Farmers. From 1982 to 1991 he headed the German–Polish agriculture working group of the Federal Ministry of Economics. He chairs the agricultural research initiative group of the central committee for agriculture. |
