Prof. Dr. Hannelore Daniel

Prof. Dr Hannelore Daniel is chair of Nutrition Physiology at the Nutrition and Food Research Center (ZIEL) at Munich Technical University’s Weihenstephan Science Centre.

After studying nutritional science at Justus Liebig University Giessen, she obtained her PhD in 1982 in Giessen. A postdoctoral qualification in the physiology and biochemistry of nutrition followed in 1989, and she became Professor of the Biochemistry of Nutrition at Giessen. Since 1999 she has been Professor of Nutrition Physiology at Munich Technical University.

Amongst other posts, Hannelore Daniel is member of the American Institute of Nutrition, the American Physiological Society, the board of the German Society of Nutrition (DGE), the Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and the senate commission of the DFG which evaluates the safety of foodstuffs to human health.
