BioEconomyCouncil appoints two new members
The Bio-economy Research and Technology Council has been bolstered by the appointment of two new members. Dr Stefan Marcinowski (BASF SE) and Dr Holger Zinke (Brain AG) will henceforth assist the Council’s work, particularly in the area of plant research and bio-technology.

At a sitting on 8/2/2010, the executive committee of the German Academy of Science and Engineering appointed two new members to the BioEconomyCouncil. These are board member of BASF SE, Dr Stefan Marcinowski, who since 2008 has also been Vice-President of the Max Planck Society and Chairman of the German Industrial Association of Bio-technology (DIB); and Chairman and CEO of Brain AG, Dr Holger Zinke.
These two members succeed Dr Andreas Kreimeyer (BASF SE) and Prof. Dr Carsten Thoroe, former President of the Johann Heinrich von Thünen-Institute, both of whom have decided to leave the Council. In accordance with his wishes, Prof. Dr Alexander Zehnder, who works in Canada, will from now on be a guest member of the Council.
